Turkey to buy Israeli unmanned surveillance drones
Announcement of the deal comes ahead of the Turkish Prime Minister’s visit to Israel and Palestine.
April 19 - Turkey is to buy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ground stations from Israel in a deal worth nearly $200 million.

       The agreement to buy the pilotless surveillance and reconnaissance drones, worth $189 million, was announced Tuesday. Under the deal Turkey is to acquire 10 ground stations, each with three or four UAVs. All three arms of the military will use the new technology.
       The aircraft, dubbed the Heron by its designer Israel Aircraft Industries, has a range of up to 1000 kilometres and can remain airborne for up to 52 hours. It can also be equipped with a 250 kilogram warhead for offensive missions.
