Erdogan calls for EU leaders to be positive toward Turkey
The Turkish Prime Minister said EU leaders should show political courage.
November 29— Turkey’s Prime Minister has called on the leaders of the European Union’s member states to act positively towards his country’s bid to be given a firm date to open accession negotiations with the bloc.

  Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he was optimistic about the outcome of the December 17 EU summit, at which a decision was to be taken on whether to give Turkey a date to start membership talks.
       Speaking in an interview with the German magazine Focus, Erdogan called on the EU leaders to show political courage and keep the promises they had made to Turkey.
       In its article, which also covered Erdogan’s private and family life, the magazine highlighted that there was very divided views over Turkey’s membership bid and but added that French and German leaders were supporting Ankara, despite strong opposition of their public.
